Heading into tonight's game against the Colts, Brees has probably been the most underrated QB in the league. Because he is tucked away in a city that most people would rather forget existed, and a team that has lived nearly its entire life in the NFC cellar, Brees can't get the respect he deserves. Going into the game against the Vikings, all that was heard was news on Favre, how he is unstoppable and how great he is at this age. And Brees was just a footnote to that game, until of course he beat them. But then the attention turned quickly to the Super Bowl and how it would be played out, and of course how the Saints will need to stop Manning. Manning was the number one headline grabber for this game. Before 6 today Manning was the most dominant quarterback in the game. Instead of his brother doing those lame watch commercials, it should Peyton, because he is virtually "unstoppable". Watching the game, even in the closing minutes as the game seemed to be locked up for the Saints victory, Manning maintained a dignity and coolness about him. He marched his team down the field in an impressive fashion, but ultimately came up short. It was Brees, and his dedication and love for the game and his teammates that won that game. Brees has been thought of as a top tier player, but not as a dominate player. It is time that he is listed as one of those players, that he is one of the great players now playing the game. For all that it's worth Brees doesn't play second fiddle to any QB in the league, not to Manning, Favre, or Brady, but that he is at par with them and if not better than them all at this time. For right now give the man some respect, and lets see what he can do next season.
