I typically take a very cynical and bitter look at this day. Even when in love I have found this day as being boring and another excuse for us men to spill our money on frivolous things and sentimental rubbish. But sitting here today and thinking of the ones that I love, and not being able to be with them I realize what a great day it really is. We men go through life usually without an ounce of romanticism falling from our pores. As men are hunter/gatherers, we show our love for our woman and children by providing for them. Women want I guess something different, they are very happy with the life that we provide but they require that extra something. Thats why predetermined days of celebration are awesome. On these days we make up for not being romantic the rest of the year. Feb. 14, birthdays, mothers day(for those with children), and anniversaries are great because they help us men fill up our significant others romantic tank. And sure, all this pink, and hearts are nauseating, but remember guys, we got the 4th of July. On that day we are allowed to indulge in our manly desires, being outside, grilling red bloody meat, spitting, and blowing things up. I guess even with this day we still have it pretty good, what do you guys say?
